West Haven Parks & Recreation is excited to bring back Tennis Lessons for children ages 7-14. Instructor John Kelly will be offering 5-week session starting April 25th.
John has an impressive tennis background. He has been coaching youth sports since 1995. John is an 8 Time USTA tournament champion. He is currently ranked in the top 3(Top 60 in U.S.) in USTA Men's Tennis. John is CPR/AED Certified & also completing the USTA Safe Play Coaching Certification. John played three years of Varsity Tennis for West Haven High School and is the owner/head instructor of JK Tennis Academy in Milford, CT.
John will use the "Orange Ball" method to instruct class.
At the orange ball level, John will introduce a larger court and longer racquet. Instruction emphasizes a game-based approach to tennis. The scaled down equipment will allow students to achieve ball control and rally skills more quickly. By the time your child advances to the next level they should have a consistent serve, be able to rally consistently in the orange ball court as well as have an understanding of topspin and underspin.

Session 1: April 25th -May 23rd (5 weeks meeting once a week)
