West Haven has a great history of sports throughout the years. This summer West Haven Parks & Recreation is excited to introduce its Summer Sports Camp.  
 
The camp is for boys & girls ages 6-12 years of age. Kids will be broken up into appropriate age groups 6-9, & 10-12. The goal of the 4-day sports camp is to introduce different sports throughout the week to our campers. We will have staff that has played or coached the sports we will introduce. Each camper will play 4 different sports each day and learn skills & drills along with mini games within that sport.  
 
The idea behind this camp is to simply reintroduce our youth to one of West Haven's biggest draws - SPORTS. We have numerous fields, courts and youth sports leagues across the city that we hope to see fill up with kids playing and having fun.  
 
The benefit a child can gain from being part of a sport is endless. Sports creates discipline, character & confidence. It helps build social skills and improve mental health & self-image. Having a coach as a mentor allows kids to engage with adults in a trusted way. This camp will aim to provide all these areas along with connecting children to other opportunities throughout the city over the calendar year.  

Sports at camp include baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, flag football volleyball, plus more

Location: Painter Park  
Cost: $85 
Camp Dates: June 20th, June 21st, June 22nd, June 23rd 
Camp Time: 9:00-2:00 PM - Must be picked up & dropped off  
Ages: 6-12 **spots are limited to 30 kids per age group** 
Breakfast: No breakfast will be provided  
Lunch: WHBOE will be providing lunch or you can bring your own 
 
IMPORTANT: THERE IS NO MAKEUP DATE FOR WEATHER RELATED CANCELLATIONS
