West Haven boasts a rich sports history, and this summer the Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to bring back our Summer Sports Camp. Catering to both boys and girls aged 6-12, the camp will strategically group kids based on their age and skill level.
Over the four-day duration our camp aims to expose participants to a variety of sports, utilizing a committed staff possessing expertise in the highlighted sports along with camp experience.
Each day at the camp will focus on different sports, encompassing skills, drills, and engaging games specific to each sport.
The primary objective is to reintroduce the community to one of West Haven’s prominent sporting initiatives, fostering participation throughout the city's various youth sports leagues.
The benefits for children engaging in sports are immeasurable, ranging from instilling discipline, building character and confidence to enhancing social skills and mental health.
In this camp the mentorship provided by the coaches creates a trusted avenue for children to connect with adults, college age players, and high school athletes facilitating personal growth.
