West Haven Parks and Recreation and Youth and Family Service are partnering with West Haven Police Department's School Resource Officer's of the Crime Prevention Unit, to present the latest installment of our Westie V.I.P program! This exciting 3-on-3 basketball (single elimination tournament) will take place over three days during April break and is open to students in grades 5-6 and 7-8. Each participant will receive a complementary t-shirt. We will have refreshments on hand daily. 

Tournament Details 
Dates: April 15, 16, & 17 
Location: Nike Site Courts 
 Divisions: Separate boys’ and girls’ brackets for 5th-6th and 7th-8th graders 
Time: 9:30-12:30 pm (time may vary depending on number of participants)  

Game Format: 
  • Teams: Players select their own teams but must register individually and list their preferred teammates.
  • Game Length: 15-minute games
  • Teachable Moments: Each game will include a 10-minute break for mentorship and skill-building.
  • Court Support: Each court will have an official and a mentor to guide and support players.
This tournament is designed to provide a fun, competitive, and educational experience, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership skills both on and off the court. Don’t miss this chance to compete, learn, and have a great time with your peers.  
This program is for those in grades 5-8th only, No Exceptions!
