Join our exercise workout designed by instructor Heather Frazee twice a week (Monday's & Wednesday's) and see results in your energy level and waistline. This program will include various muscle toning and body sculpting techniques utilizing aerobic steps, exercise bands and bars, medicine ball, hand & leg weights. YOU control the intensity of your work out!
Class is designed for all levels of exercise enthusiasts - a fun way to tone & firm your body with noticeable results

Strength & Conditioning AfterschoolOur strength and conditioning class for kids will focus on the foundations of exercise and muscle development while improving your child’s confidence. Whether you are looking to get fit, learn new exercises, improve your speed, or just get away from video games for an hour, ..... this is the class for you! Coach Pete is a CSCS certified trainer who has a gym at the Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport. Pete will show you exercises to make you faster and stronger. Kids will use agility ladders, hurdles and beanbags to work on fast feet and coordination and use their own body weight to get stronger, while working on core exercises to stabilize the muscles needed for balance and to help you get stronger.Sign up for one or both classes. This program will meet every Wednesday from 2:45-4:00pm starting October 23rd. Picasso Parties after school art program hopes to engage children of all ages who are interested in art. We will introduce them to art mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and clay. Our 6-week hour-long class gives them the chance to do hands-on art projects while learning certain techniques. This program does not provide transportation so students must have a ride home when the program ends. Your child does not need any experience in art and Picasso will supply all the materials and fun! West Haven Youth & Family Services is teaming up with West Haven Parks & Recreation to offer an after-school duckpin bowling for youth, ages 9-13 at Woodlawn duckpin Bowling.This 5-week program will be held between the hours of 4:00-5:15 PM every Wednesday starting November 6th- December 11th. Participants will bowl in their socks. Snack Bar is available on site however the video games will be shut down during bowling. Parents should promptly drop and pickup their child from the program. Department staff will be on hand to organize and help keep score. There will be a pizza party for all the participants enrolled on the final week of the program. Mary has established herself in several of the shoreline towns Parks & Recreation departments over the past few years and has been interviewed by both Channel 8 and the Register. Mary brings her love and knowledge of cooking to the kids by teaching them to measure, cut and mix while teaching the safeties of the kitchen. Adult indoor volleyball - Thursday Coed night Indoor Volleyball: Spike Force @ Smack That Ace
West Haven Parks & Recreation is offering three nights of our Adult (18+) Indoor Volleyball league. These leagues allow six teams with 6 players on the court. The matches will be held at the Savin Rock School Gym located on 50 Park St. First match starts @ 6:30 PM Monday nights (Co-ed) are for the intermediate player seeking competitive play Wednesday nights will be our "Ladies Night" which is highly competitive Thursday Nights (Co-ed) is for the novice player seeking recreational play Format: 2 matches per team each night and 3 games per match. Game 3 to 11 capped at 13 Match format: Match #1 begins promptly at 6:30pm! Matches #2 & #3 MUST begin play 3 minutes after the ending of the previous scheduled match! General Information: Last year's teams that are in "GOOD STANDING" have 1st choice for return. To secure a spot on a designated night, payment is due by 5:00pm Tuesday, Oct. 1st. You can register via your online household account, or our Painter Park office with a check. ANY "NEW" TEAM may place their name on a wait list for the designated night. New teams will be allowed to register for a league night starting October 8th. Team Roster/waiver forms available via link below and MUST BE COMPLETED and TURNED IN on the first night of play. For weather related cancellation monitor homepage of our web site for ALERT. Captains will receive email & text notification. This program does not meet on federal, state holidays or WHBOED sanctioned events at the school. **Fee Per Team is $285. Registration for returning teams is now open** **Make Sure you complete forms and turn them in on or before 1st night**

Girls Indoor Winter Volleyball Clinic - Girls Beginner/Intermediate Indoor Volleyball Clinic
Girls Indoor Winter Volleyball ClinicThis year we will run two clinics. The first will be a beginner/intermediate clinic that will introduce and improve upon the fundamentals of volleyball. Players will work on serving, setting, passing, digging and hitting. Girls that have played with us last year are still eligible for this clinic.For those that might be a little more serious, have played with us a few times, and feel confident that they can bump and set with ACCURACY, then the advanced clinic is for you. This clinic will work on how to place the ball, backset, know how to “pancake”, and more. Both clinics will run 10 weeks from December 13th- Feb 21st.Beginner/Intermediate will be from 5:30-6:30; advanced from 6:30-7:30.Knee pads recommended for beginner/intermediate and required for advanced
