Beach and Boat Ramp Parking


Beach Parking Guidelines
 
Non-Resident Parking – Pay by Kiosk at the following locations:
  • Sea Bluff parking lot, Ocean Ave
  • Bradley Pt parking lot, Capt Thomas Blvd
  • Palace St, between Altshuler Blvd and Oak St
  • Morse Park parking lot, Beach St
  • Sandy Point parking lot, Beach St
Fees: $2.50/hr, $25/day.  Annual non-resident parking passes may be purchased for $250 through the Human Resources office, (203)937-3568.
 
Resident Parking – In addition to Sea Bluff, Bradley Pt, Morse Park, and Sandy Pt, residents may park in the lots at:
  • South St
  • Dawson Ave
  • Oak St
  • Altshuler Blvd
Palace St parking is by kiosk ticket only.  Residents must have a valid beach sticker affixed to the lower left windshield.  They are available at the Tax Office, (203)937-3525.  Driver’s license and vehicle registration are not acceptable at the lots, a valid and affixed beach sticker is required
 
Boat Ramp Parking – The boat ramp at April St is usable by both residents and non-residents.  Residents must display their valid beach sticker, non-residents may purchase time at the kiosk.  Parking in the lot is for vehicles with trailers only.  There is an extremely limited amount of “vehicle only” spaces to the left of the ramp, any vehicle without a trailer parked in the ramp lot is subject to ticket and tow.
 
Hours of Operation
The following lots are open from 6am to ½ hour after sunset: South St, Dawson Ave, Sea Bluff, Morse Park.
The following lots are open from 6am to 10:30pm: Bradley Pt, Oak St, Altshuler Blvd, Palace St, Sandy Pt.
The Boat Ramp is open 24hrs for vehicles with trailers.  Limited vehicle only parking spaces are 6am to ½ hour after sunset.
The Boardwalk/Bike Path between Altshuler Blvd and Washington Ave is closed from 10pm to 7am year round per an agreement between the City of West Haven and the Savin Rock Condominium Association at West Walk.

To protect and enhance outdoor air quality and contribute to the health and well-being of all residents and visitors to City of West Haven owned or controlled outdoor facilities:

Smoking will be prohibited at all City-owned outdoor recreational facilities, including playgrounds, athletic fields, beaches, beach parking lots and parks.
