Intro to Fashion Design
In this class, students in grades 2-4 will learn the basics about sketching and learn about different types of fabrics from teacher Ciara Valois. Ms. Valois can be found at her studio in New Haven when she isn’t working with her students at Seth Haley. She has studied fashion since childhood and attended a few fashion shows and style some models for Dior and the Today Show. In this class, students will be provided education about the fashion industry and get a chance to design barbie-sized clothing to take home. Classes will run on Tuesday after school at Parks & Recreation office for an hour for five weeks.

West Haven Parks & Recreation is teaming up with Picasso Parties to offer an exciting 6 week after school art program for students of Carrigan Intermediate School. This program will meet every Wednesday from 2:45-4:00pm starting October 22 nd. Picasso Parties after school art program hopes to engage children of all ages who are interested in art. We will introduce them to art mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and clay. Our 6-week hour-long class gives them the chance to do hands-on art projects while learning certain techniques.Your child does not need any experience in art and Picasso will supply all the materials and fun! This program does not provide transportation so students must have a ride home when the program ends. Student must attend Carrigan school to enroll in the program. Intro to Fashion Design
In this class, students in grades 2-4 will learn the basics about sketching and learn about different types of fabrics from teacher Ciara Valois. Ms. Valois can be found at her studio in New Haven when she isn’t working with her students at Seth Haley. She has studied fashion since childhood and attended a few fashion shows and style some models for Dior and the Today Show. In this class, students will be provided education about the fashion industry and get a chance to design barbie-sized clothing to take home. Classes will run on Tuesday after school at Parks & Recreation office for an hour for five weeks.

Mark your calendars and come join us Tuesday, October 28th at Painter Park on the tennis courts for a Halloween packed with fun and activities for children ages 12 and under! Costumes are highly encouraged, so come dressed in your best Halloween attire! You must pre-register for the appropriate age group on our website (www.whparkrec.com) and you have to be a West Haven resident. Our activities include:

In this class, students in grades 2-4 will learn the basics about sketching and learn about different types of fabrics from teacher Ciara Valois. Ms. Valois can be found at her studio in New Haven when she isn’t working with her students at Seth Haley. She has studied fashion since childhood and attended a few fashion shows and style some models for Dior and the Today Show. In this class, students will be provided education about the fashion industry and get a chance to design barbie-sized clothing to take home. Classes will run on Tuesday after school at Parks & Recreation office for an hour for five weeks.

Intro to Fashion Design
In this class, students in grades 2-4 will learn the basics about sketching and learn about different types of fabrics from teacher Ciara Valois. Ms. Valois can be found at her studio in New Haven when she isn’t working with her students at Seth Haley. She has studied fashion since childhood and attended a few fashion shows and style some models for Dior and the Today Show. In this class, students will be provided education about the fashion industry and get a chance to design barbie-sized clothing to take home. Classes will run on Tuesday after school at Parks & Recreation office for an hour for five weeks.

Adult Muscle Cardio Tone - Adult Muscle Cardio Tone -Fall Session
Join our exercise workout designed by instructor Heather Frazee twice a week (Monday's & Wednesday's) and see results in your energy level and waistline. This program will include various muscle toning and body sculpting techniques utilizing aerobic steps, exercise bands and bars, medicine ball, hand & leg weights. YOU control the intensity of your work out!
Class is designed for all levels of exercise enthusiasts - a fun way to tone & firm your body with noticeable results
Please provide your own floor mat, hand and /or leg weights - optional. Limited number of these items are available at the program location.
Exercise bands, medicine balls, aerobic steps, weighted poles, hand & leg weights will be utilized throughout the session.

Zumba Fusion - Fall Session - Zumba Fusion- Fall Session
West Haven Parks & Recreation is pleased to introduce Zumba Fusion, an exciting new variation of our popular Zumba program. This class combines the cardio benefits of traditional Zumba with the added strength and conditioning of Zumba Toning. Participants will enjoy a dynamic, one-hour workout led by certified instructor Kim Kaufman, featuring high-energy dance movements paired with light weights (1–2 lbs.) to promote muscle toning and sculpting. The program is designed to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, and overall body strength—all while maintaining the fun, upbeat atmosphere of a classic Zumba class. Zumba Fusion offers a comprehensive fitness experience that engages both body and mind, making it an ideal choice for participants of all fitness levels. Kids Cooking is Back...hosted by Mary's Culinary Classes! Mary has established herself in several of the shoreline towns Parks & Recreation departments over the past few years and has been interviewed by both Channel 8 and the Register. Mary brings her love and knowledge of cooking to the kids by teaching them to measure and mix while teaching the safeties of the kitchen. Kids will eat their meal in class and take home any leftovers they don’t eat.Mary began her journey by watching and helping her mother baking and cooking traditional Italian cuisine. Her repertoire has expanded beyond cooking Italian food as she has spent many years working in the restaurant business. Mary spent many years working with both children and adults alike and books private birthday parties as well. Some classes are co-taught by her husband, Gregg. Instructor, Mary Beth Colleran will facilitate your KRIPALU YOGA experience by utilizing classic yoga postures while focusing on breath awareness and relaxation for integrating one's body, mind, and spirit. Strength & Conditioning for KidsOur strength and conditioning class for kids will focus on the foundations of exercise and muscle development while improving your child’s confidence. Whether you are looking to improve your speed and reaction time, make the high school team, build muscle, get in shape, learn new exercises, or make new friends, this is the class for you. Coach Carleigh is a student and trainer at University of New Haven. Carleigh will show you exercises to make you faster and stronger. Kids will use body weight and light weights to get stronger, while working on core exercises to stabilize the muscles needed for balance and to help you get stronger.

West Haven Parks & Recreation is teaming up with Picasso Parties to offer an exciting 6 week after school art program for students of Carrigan Intermediate School. This program will meet every Wednesday from 2:45-4:00pm starting October 22 nd. Picasso Parties after school art program hopes to engage children of all ages who are interested in art. We will introduce them to art mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and clay. Our 6-week hour-long class gives them the chance to do hands-on art projects while learning certain techniques.Your child does not need any experience in art and Picasso will supply all the materials and fun! This program does not provide transportation so students must have a ride home when the program ends. Student must attend Carrigan school to enroll in the program.
