This program is for West Haven children K-6th grade (5-12 yrs.) We are offering four options for this class. Please make sure you sign up for the time slot that best fits your schedule. This class does not provide transportation and will be held atTHE LOWER Pavilion at Painter Park Instructors from the Assembly of the Martial Arts Academy  will provide a great opportunity for fun, Exercise & Discipline. The Karate Club will meet for five sessions starting:Monday May 1st - June 5th ** No Class May 29th**4:00 - 4:45 PM5:00 - 5:45 PMThe benefits of this 5 week program include:- Learning proper Martial Arts techniques - blocks, kicks, & punches - Develops confidence level & self control- Develops discipline & focus - Promotes exercise & activity - Develops "bully -busting" skills - Increases " stranger danger" awareness Club will now meet rain or shine outdoors There is NO transportation provided to this program, participant must provide own transportation.      **First time students who enroll in the program  will receive a white belt**                    **Returning students will earn stripes on their belt**                **Children are to wear their belt to the club each week****PARENT/GUARDIAN NOTE:  We ask for your cooperation with parent viewing of your child's karate class. We find that children initially become distracted when parents are present. We would appreciate if you could keep yourself distant from the class location. ** Classes could be combined based on enrollment numbers**

This program will include various muscle toning and body sculpting techniques utilizing aerobic steps, exercise bands and bars, medicine ball, hand & leg weights. YOU control the intensity of your work out! Class is designed for all levels of exercise enthusiasts - a fun way to tone & firm your body with noticeable results Please provide your own floor mat, hand and /or leg weights - optional. Limited number of these items are available at the program location. Exercise bands, medicine balls, aerobic steps, weighted poles, hand & leg weights will be utilized throughout the session. Anyone can do Kripalu yoga, no prior experience required and all practicing yoga levels are welcomed since non-judgemental self awareness is an essential part of Kripalu yoga. This is an adult COED program and participant must be at least 18 years of age. West Haven Youth & Family Services is teaming up with West Haven Parks & Recreation to provide an alternative enrichment duckpin bowling  for youth, ages 9-13 at Woodlawn duckpin Bowling. This 5 week program will be held between the hours of 4:00-5:30 PM every Wednesday starting May 31st - June 28th. Participants will bowl in their socks. Snack Bar is available on site. Parents must drop/pickup their child from the program. Staff from both city departments will be on hand to organize and help keep score while the children bowl. West Haven Youth & Family Services Director Diane Dietman has created two special evenings for residents between the ages of 13-17 (Bailey Middle School)  & 7-12(Savin Rock School). These nights will be on two different evenings at two different school locations in the city. Diane has collaborated with several city departments to make this a safe & fun evening for the youth that attend!Included in this evening will be our V.I.P. themed evening will be :Video game trailer 9 gaming stations for up to 22 players at a time (At Bailey)Interactive games & Krazy KonezPizza by Franco's Fried dough Darcy LoPresti from Picasso's painting will be hand to do face painting and tattoos as well! There will be music and many other city departments on hand to create a special night for the youth that attend. The event is $10.00 per child ($5.00 sibling discount for second child) for West Haven residents only of the previously mentioned ages.We look forward to seeing you there !  Registration is REQUIRED for this event and proof of residency will be required at event check-in.                                         **NO WALK-UPS THE DAY OF THE EVENT**                                                      **MUST PRE-PAY ONLINE**

Benefits of Kripalu yoga include development of better balance, flexibility, strength, body awareness and helps to reduce stress. Anyone can do Kripalu yoga, no prior experience required and all practicing yoga levels are welcomed since non-judgemental self awareness is an essential part of Kripalu yoga. West Haven Youth & Family Services is teaming up with West Haven Parks & Recreation to provide an alternative enrichment duckpin bowling  for youth, ages 9-13 at Woodlawn duckpin Bowling. This 5 week program will be held between the hours of 4:00-5:30 PM every Wednesday starting May 31st - June 28th. Participants will bowl in their socks. Snack Bar is available on site. Parents must drop/pickup their child from the program. Staff from both city departments will be on hand to organize and help keep score while the children bowl. West Haven Youth & Family Services is teaming up with West Haven Parks & Recreation to provide an alternative enrichment duckpin bowling  for youth, ages 9-13 at Woodlawn duckpin Bowling. This 5 week program will be held between the hours of 4:00-5:30 PM every Wednesday starting May 31st - June 28th. Participants will bowl in their socks. Snack Bar is available on site. Parents must drop/pickup their child from the program. Staff from both city departments will be on hand to organize and help keep score while the children bowl. Be sure to sign up for the same camp session. The bus does NOT do early dropoff/pickup.Registration starts April 18thYou can sign up for one or all of our three 2-wk sessions:Session 1: June 26th- July 14th     (*no camp July 3rd-4th*) **This is a 2.5 wk session**Session 2: July 17th- July 28thSession 3: July 31st- August 11thParent Orientation: Wednesday, June 14th at 6pmWe provide arts and crafts, games, pool visits every day (at WHHS Pool), and some special guests. Campers will be divided into groups by age and assigned to counselors.  Groups will rotate to different stations and participate in various small and large group activities.  Our counselors are trained to provide a safe and fun environment for your children.     Things your child will need: Bathing suit and towel Sunscreen and/or hat Sneakers Lunch, snacks, and water bottles  In the chance of inclement weather, we will hold camp at Mackrille school, but will notify you via email and/or text, so please be sure your email and phone number are up to date in our system. Please be sure to complete all attached forms before camp starts. WHPR Junior CIT Program The Junior Counselor in Training Program (CIT) is a two week program designed to prepare qualified teens (ages 13-15) an opportunity to train for a counselor position at our summer camp for the following year.  Training will entail learning how to become a leader and role model while learning the camp structure. We will also send your teen to some of the other sites to learn more about their roles and responsibilities and all the available job opportunities.  Our program tackles group supervision, positive redirection, games, activities, first aid and safety issues. Although completing this program does not guarantee future employment, it will help you decide if working with children is something you enjoy doing. Jr CIT’s will check in with the Jr CIT director, Olivia Quagliani, for daily duties.Jr CIT’s will gain an advantage to getting hired as a CIT the following year. $25 discount for each additional child per session.Session I is a 2.5 wk session***Please do not bring electronics to camp**** Your child is only allowed to enroll in ONE 2-wk SESSION each summer

WHPR Junior CIT Program The Junior Counselor in Training Program (CIT) is a two week program designed to prepare qualified teens (ages 13-15) an opportunity to train for a counselor position at our summer camp for the following year.  Training will entail learning how to become a leader and role model while learning the camp structure. We will also send your teen to some of the other sites to learn more about their roles and responsibilities and all the available job opportunities.  Our program tackles group supervision, positive redirection, games, activities, first aid and safety issues. Although completing this program does not guarantee future employment, it will help you decide if working with children is something you enjoy doing. Jr CIT’s will check in with the Jr CIT director, Olivia Quagliani, for daily duties.Jr CIT’s will gain an advantage to getting hired as a CIT the following year. $25 discount for each additional child per session.Session I is a 2.5 wk session***Please do not bring electronics to camp**** Your child is only allowed to enroll in ONE 2-wk SESSION each summer

West Haven Youth & Family Services is teaming up with West Haven Parks & Recreation to provide an alternative enrichment duckpin bowling  for youth, ages 9-13 at Woodlawn duckpin Bowling. This 5 week program will be held between the hours of 4:00-5:30 PM every Wednesday starting May 31st - June 28th. Participants will bowl in their socks. Snack Bar is available on site. Parents must drop/pickup their child from the program. Staff from both city departments will be on hand to organize and help keep score while the children bowl. Come join instructor Tim Regan as he teaches Tai Chi by the beach on Thursday morningsTai Chi is a strong and graceful low impact exercise ideal for improving strength and balance as well as reducing excess tension.Tim has 30 plus years of experience as a Tai Chi instructor and is currently a faculty member at the University of Bridgeport Acupuncture Institute. Tim also represented UB for World Tai Chi Day in West Haven/Milford Benefits of Tai Chi class will include :Simple standing and walking movements relax and invigorate every joint in the body.Promote a calm and alert attitudeMental focusImproved breathing and circulation. In addition :A variety of warm up and conditioning exercises will be learned along with a basic Tai Chi routine. Appropriate for any level of ability.

WHPR Junior CIT Program The Junior Counselor in Training Program (CIT) is a two week program designed to prepare qualified teens (ages 13-15) an opportunity to train for a counselor position at our summer camp for the following year.  Training will entail learning how to become a leader and role model while learning the camp structure. We will also send your teen to some of the other sites to learn more about their roles and responsibilities and all the available job opportunities.  Our program tackles group supervision, positive redirection, games, activities, first aid and safety issues. Although completing this program does not guarantee future employment, it will help you decide if working with children is something you enjoy doing. Jr CIT’s will check in with the Jr CIT director, Olivia Quagliani, for daily duties.Jr CIT’s will gain an advantage to getting hired as a CIT the following year. $25 discount for each additional child per session.Session I is a 2.5 wk session***Please do not bring electronics to camp**** Your child is only allowed to enroll in ONE 2-wk SESSION each summer
